This vibrant and invigorating red juice is a perfect pick-me-up made with fresh beets, red cabbage, pomegranate and ginger! Try this delicious and healthy drink with a sweet/tart kick.
It seems inevitable that come January we’re all struck with that overwhelming urge to get back on track and eat a little cleaner. If consuming more fresh produce is on your to-do list this year then you may want to add juicing to your daily routine.
Quick and easy, a homemade fruit and vegetable juice makes a wonderfully invigorating and tasty drink in the morning or afternoon when you’re looking for a pick me up that doesn't rely on caffeine. My favorite juice to sip on at the moment is a sweet-tart combination of pomegranate, beets, red cabbage and ginger. I call it my red juice because of its vibrant color.
This red juice is a lot of goodness in a small glass. It has a nice kick from the ginger but not so much as to overwhelm your taste buds, while the red cabbage and beets offer a mellow sweetness and the pomegranate juice balances everything with a nice tart finish. Here’s what you’ll need:
Ingredient Notes:
(Here are a few notes about the ingredients you’ll need for this recipe. As always find the full list of ingredients and directions in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.)
- Pomegranate – You’ll need the seeds from a whole pomegranate. The sweet/tart flavor plays beautifully with the other vegetables in the juice and adds sweetness.
- Beets – You’ll need red beets for this juice.
- Cabbage – You’ll need a red/purple cabbage. With more nutrients than its paler green counter-part thanks to its purple pigmentation it's a natural addition to this red juice.
- Ginger – Fresh ginger gives the juice an invigorating jolt to get you going, and has digestive benefits.
How to Make Red Juice:
- You’ll start by chopping everything into chunks to fit into the juicer chute.
- Next pass all the ingredients through the juicer, alternating hard and soft ingredients.
- Pour the juice into ice-filled glass and serve immediately.
Fresh juice like this is best enjoyed immediately but you if you have a masticating juicer you can store the juice in an airtight container and refrigerate it for up to 3 days.
So dig out your juicer and give it a try, it might become your new favorite pick-me up!

My favorite juices have beets and kale in them! I'm also a huge pomegranate fan (I just found the BEST way to knock out the seeds!), so this juice is pretty darn perfect. Pinned!

Beautiful juice, Sylvie! As always, your photography inspires. 🙂 I love the combination as well as your nickname, "ravishingly red juice". I have a favorite juice combination coming up next on the blog and I call mine, "The Pink Lady". Thanks so much for sharing. Happy New Year! xo P.S. Don't know how I missed this post. I'm so used to looking for you on Wednesday mornings! 😉
