Learn how to make a delicious and healthy watermelon juice at home with no juicer needed! Light, refreshing, and easy to make, it hits the spot on a hot day.
Nothing is quite as refreshing as biting into a crisp slice of watermelon on a hot day; except maybe sipping on a cooling glass of it instead.
Watermelon juice is a deliciously refreshing way to beat the heat. Easy to make (no juicer needed), naturally sweet, with no added sugar, it’s a healthy and tasty way to keep the whole family hydrated on a hot day.
You’ve probably come across bottles of watermelon juice at the grocery store by now but it’s so easy to make at home that there’s really no need to buy the bottled stuff. Not to mention that freshly made juice tastes so much better than the store bought kind. Here's what you'll need:
Ingredient Notes:
You only need 3 things:
- A blender or a food processor.
- Chilled watermelon. (You’ll want to serve the juice chilled, so starting with cold watermelon is a good idea.)
- A fine mesh strainer.
How to Make Watermelon Juice:
The concept is simple.
- Place cubes of chilled watermelon into a blender or food processor.
- Blend until liquefied.
- Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove the solids and serve icy cold.
Now you could stop at that and call it a day or get creative with some add-ins. Here are some of my favorite variations:
Variations:
- Watermelon lime juice – A squeeze of lime before serving makes for an extra refreshing juice.
- Watermelon lemon juice – Try a squeeze of fresh lemon instead of lime for an equally refreshing experience.
- Watermelon mint juice – Pop a few leaves of fresh mint into the blender along with your watermelon for an extra cooling effect.
- Cucumber watermelon juice (my favorite) - Add a few pieces of peeled and seeded cucumber, and a few springs of mint along with your watermelon chunks before blending for a spa-like sip that’s incredibly refreshing.
- Celery watermelon juice – If cucumber isn’t your thing try celery instead, its crisp clean taste is a natural match for watermelon.
How to Store:
Watermelon juice is best consumed fresh on the day it’s made but can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
If you’ve made too much, try making watermelon popsicles instead!
