This zippy beet juice recipe with the power of carrots, oranges, lemons, ginger and turmeric will put a little pep in your step.
You know that moment when the itch in the back of your throat that’s been coming and going for days decides to set up camp and that runny nose you were sure was just allergies becomes an all out faucet? This is the juice I turn to.
Fresh and bright it comes to the rescue when I just don't have the desire to eat a real meal. On those days when you neither have the energy or motivation to make anything proper to eat, freshly pressed juice can go a long way in supplying much needed hydration and nutrients.
Beet Carrot Juice
This particular beet juice recipe starts with a base of beets, carrots, oranges and lemons to which fresh ginger and turmeric root are added for extra zing. It’s the lingering heat of the ginger that helps numb my scratchy throat and clear up those sinuses while the orange and lemon supply some vitamin C. Here's what you'll need:
Ingredient Notes:
(Here are a few notes about the ingredients you’ll need for this recipe. As always find the full list of ingredients and directions in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.)
- Beet - You'll need 1 medium to large beet, peeled and chopped.
- Carrots - You'll need about 3 medium carrots, well scrubbed and chopped.
- Orange - I like a blood orange for this juice but use any orange you'd like, rind, pith and seeds removed.
- Lemon - You'll need ½ a lemon, rind, pith and seeds removed.
- Fresh Turmeric - You can find fresh turmeric in the produce section of most grocery stores.
- Fresh Ginger - You'll find fresh ginger in the same section as fresh turmeric.
How to Make Beet Carrot Juice:
- Pass all the ingredients through a juicer.
- Serve immediately over ice.
Fresh juice is best enjoyed immediately but if you have a masticating juicer you can store the juice in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
A glass of this goes down easy even when nothing else sounds good, somehow soothing and fortifying at the same time, but it’s also my go-to juice when I just need a little pick me up or extra energy.

Sylvie, what a gorgeous juice--it looks like a bright ruby 🙂 And this recipe could not have come at a better time, as I feel the first inkling of my annual summer cold coming on. Can't wait to try this in my new juicer!
