Simple yet elegant, they’re perfect for the holiday season and beyond. Whether you add them to your holiday table as an impressive yet easy side, serve them as part of a cheese board or a unique dessert alongside a scoop of ice cream you really can’t go wrong with these easy roasted pears.
Sweet pears are tossed with fresh rosemary, maple syrup and olive oil then roasted until tender. Roasting brings out their natural sweetness and the heat of the oven makes them melt-in-your-mouth tender. Here’s what you’ll need to make them:
Ingredient Notes:
(Here are a few notes about the ingredients you’ll need for this recipe. As always find the full list of ingredients and directions in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.)
- Pears – Bosc pears are my favorite for roasting since they keep their shape while cooking but feel free to experiment with other varieties, just make they aren’t overripe or they will fall apart while cooking.
- Maple Syrup – A bit of maple syrup gives the pears a nice glaze but you can also use honey for a non-vegan version.
- Olive Oil – Use a fruity olive oil to compliment the natural sweetness of the pears.
- Fresh Rosemary – I like the combination of rosemary and maple but fresh thyme works as well.
