Ingredient Notes:
(Here are a few notes about the ingredients you’ll need for this recipe. As always find the full list of ingredients and directions in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.)
- Apples –I prefer the contrast of tart Granny Smith or Pink Lady apples with the sweetness of the date caramel but you can use either sweet or tart apples for the smoothie. We’re also using apple juice or apple cider for a double dose of apple flavor.
- Milk – I like to use coconut milk because it has a nice creamy texture and naturally sweet flavor.
- Protein Powder – Protein powder gives the smoothie extra body and makes it more filling. Make sure to choose a plain or vanilla flavored protein powder.
- Spices – Vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg are all here for maximum fall flavor.
- Date Caramel – This part is technically optional since you could still make a delicious apple smoothie without it but I highly recommend you not skip it. Making date caramel is simple and leftover sauce can be drizzled on apple slices, muffins, ice cream etc…
