Over forty years ago the first food processor was invented and it was made by Robot-Coupe; today Robot-Coupe by Magimix is still the finest food processor on the market.
Made in Burgundy, France, the Robot-Coupe by Magimix is renowned worldwide for its ultra-quiet and super powerful motor as well its versatility in the kitchen. They have their roots in producing professional products for commercial use so the products are built solid and can handle the most demanding of tasks.
I still remember my grandmother’s Magimix; it was a workhorse in her kitchen and it is today in mine as well.
Almost any task can be accomplished quickly and easily thanks to a trio of nesting work bowls and an assortment of blades, grating disks, slicing discs and whisk and other attachments. It’s like having a food processor, mixer, mini chopper, grater, mandoline, and juice press all in one. All of the accessories and additional attachments make the Robot-Coupe by Magimix the most versatile food processor I’ve ever owned.
Along with the main work bowl, the Magimix comes with a midi and a mini bowl. Each fits in one another and functions independently, allowing you to carry out several tasks in a row without having to wash bowls. The mini comes with its own chopping blade and is perfect for small jobs like chopping herbs and nuts, the midi bowl is the one to use for grating and slicing and the main bowl is perfect for processing large quantities of food like soups or batters.
The commercial grade motor is quiet and can handle both small and large jobs effortlessly. The extra-large feeding tube is a nice feature, eliminating the need to pre-chop most items. I also love that it comes with a case in which to neatly store your attachments so that you always know right where to find the attachment you need for the job.
In addition to the attachments that come with the machine, Magimix also offers additional attachments such as a Dough Bowl Attachment, a Mash and Puree Kit, a Creative Slicing Discs Kit and my favorite, the Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment.
The Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment quickly and efficiently processes fruit and vegetables for juices and smoothies as its name implies, but it’s also is perfect for preparing fresh jams, sauces, sorbets and soups. The attachment makes quick work of both hard and soft produce and includes a special funnel for berries.
This is by far my favorite new kitchen tool. With its good looks and powerful performance it’s indisputably a kitchen essential.
The Magimix by Robot-Coupe comes in a 12-cup, 14-cup and 16-cup size (the 16-cup is the one I have) and is exclusively available in the US at Williams Sonoma.
And best of all, Magimix has very generously offered to send one lucky Gourmande in the Kitchen reader a 16-cup Magimix by Robot Coupe Food Processor of their own!! That's a retail value of $500!
