Le Creuset enameled cast-iron cookware has been a favorite in kitchens around the world for decades. Best known for their signature colorful French Ovens, did you know that the French company also produces an impressive line of stoneware that lives up to their well-respected name?
The stoneware collection consists of a variety of versatile pieces that offer all the beauty and benefits of Le Creuset craftsmanship along with a host of other benefits. Each dish features grooved handles for a good grip, and a glazed interior that protects against stains, odor absorption and resists chips and cracks.
These durable pieces can go easily from fridge to oven to table due to superior heat resistance (from -65 F to 500 F). The stoneware can be used in the oven, under the broiler, in the microwave and it even goes in the freezer.
The Heritage 3 1/10 QT. Au Gratin Dish is perfect for recipes that call for a crispy topping. Thanks to its shallow wide oval shape toppings and filling bake evenly, which means your potatoes or other vegetables will be tender underneath that cheese or breadcrumb topping. I use this dish to make egg dishes, vegetable gratins or fruit crumbles.
The Heritage Stoneware 4 QT.Rectangular Covered Casserole is the solution for keeping dishes warm before serving or even when transporting to parties or picnics. It’s deep enough for thick layered casseroles and has straight sides which make cutting even portions easy.
It’s a great choice for one-dish baking, serving and storing. The well fitting lid means I can place leftovers directly in the fridge without having to transfer it to another container. It’s also a convenient way to marinate ingredients before going into the oven.
These would make a perfect gift for moms who like to cook (hint, hint). Not only are these dishes beautiful, but they’re versatile and feature the lasting quality with which the Le Creuset name has become synonymous.
I’m in love with the classic charm and beautiful presentation of these stoneware pieces and am so thrilled that Le Creuset has generously offered to send one lucky Gourmande in the Kitchen reader a set of one Heritage 3 1/10 QT. Au Gratin Dish ($39.99) and one Heritage Stoneware 4 QT.Rectangular Covered Casserole ($90.00).

My favorite Le Creuset dishes are 3 red rectangle casseroles (with they came with lids tho). Are perfect for individual mac & cheese or other baked dinners.

I have just bought LeCreuset a 7-1/4-Quart Round French Oven in mustard colour and a braiser in Marseille! Heritage Stoneware 4 QT.Rectangular Covered Casserole was my third choice! Anyways, I'm loving both very much. These two enamelled cast irons make cooking pleasurable EVERYDAY!!!

I once baked bread in a neighbor's LeCreuset pot and the crust was like shattered like glass. We ate the whole thing right then.
