Welcome, I’m Sylvie Shirazi, the recipe developer and food photographer behind Gourmande in the Kitchen.
For over a decade, I’ve been sharing simple, flavorful recipes designed to make everyday cooking easier and more enjoyable.
After discovering I needed to eliminate gluten from my diet, I experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to find recipes that are both flavorful and good-for-you. This space was created to change that.
Here you’ll find recipes made with whole, unprocessed ingredients and simple preparation. While all of the recipes are gluten-free by design, you’ll also find vegetarian, dairy-free, vegan, and other dietary-friendly options throughout the site, always focused on real food and approachable cooking.
My goal is simple: to help you feel confident in the kitchen and inspired by what you cook, no matter your dietary needs.
About the Name
“Gourmande in the Kitchen” reflects a love of good food and the joy of cooking.
A “gourmande” is someone who deeply enjoys food; not just eating it, but experiencing it. This site is about embracing that love through simple, flavorful recipes made with care and intention.
