Heather Baird is the author of the creative and whimsical baking blog Sprinkle Bakes and now the author of a cookbook by the same name. With a background in the world of art as a painter and photographer, Heather uses her skills to create breathtaking culinary confections that are sure to inspire.

Sprinkle Bakes is more than a typical how-to on baking, it’s a carefully crafted guide to unleashing the culinary artist in everyone. Dive inside and you immediately see that the chapters are divided into “Blank Canvases”, “Line”, “Sculpture”, “Color” and “Mixed Media”.
Right away we are aware that these recipes are organized through an artist’s perspective. The last chapter is a real treat and highlights Heather’s talent at breaking down complicated designs into manageable steps. I couldn’t stop staring at the Book Cake on page 256 the attention to detail is magnificent.
With easy to follow instructions and a number of step by step photographs, Heather deftly steers us through all levels of recipes from basic Sugar Cookies and Shortbread to expert creations like Tuile Cookie Spoons with Peanut Butter Mousse and a Glittering Cookie Tree.
At over 250 pages, this book is packed with inspiration for getting creative in the kitchen. The meticulously hand painted Mehndi Hand Cookies is another standout and a unique and beautiful cookie.
Heather’s recipes are visually inspiring to say the least and are truly edible art.
