Well it’s that time again; time to look back and celebrate what was, and look forward to what will be, and 2012 proved to be a tasty year.

Here’s what last year brought to the table:

JANUARY

The year started off with many glasses of “green lemonade” (fresh fennel, apple and celery juice) brimming with vitamins and minerals.

Which was shortly followed with more fennel in this crisp and crunchy Apple Fennel Salad.

FEBRUARY

As winter set in I soothed the chill and cozied up inside with a hot cup of spiced cashew coconut milk.

Creamy Broccoli and Spinach Soup made in minutes in the blender became a weekly staple.

Along with a few of these gluten free and grain free hemp and flax seed crackers.

MARCH

In March I celebrated the blog’s clean new look with these raspberry and lychee sorbet and champagne floats.

These fast and easy, paper thin green omelettes became a serious habit.

And I made quite a few batches of this grain free chocolate “granola”.

APRIL

With the start of spring came garlicky oven braised artichokes.

When I didn’t feel like cooking I turned to this whipped feta dip with parsley pesto cucumbers.

In May spring peas made an appearance in the form of an herbed goat cheese tart

and fistfuls of fresh herbs were added to frittatas.

JUNE

June was about easy entertaining

with lots of Grilled Summer Squash with Cumin Yogurt Sauce

and crisp Rosemary Parmesan Flatbread.

JULY

Summer arrived and so did the zucchini which I put to good use in a raw ribbon salad.

Simple salads were a staple like this avocado and walnut salad.

AUGUST

Of course summer wouldn’t be complete without frozen yogurt and this one made with goat milk and white tea infused cantaloupe made the heat more tolerable.

I made foccacia (grain free and gluten free) with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella.

SEPTEMBER
