Magimix by Robot-Coupe Food Processor Review and Giveaway (ARV $500) | The Original Food Processor

16-cup Magimix by Robot Coupe Food Processor, Gourmande in the Kitchen, Sylvie Shirazi Photography

Over forty years ago the first food processor was invented and it was made by Robot-Coupe; today Robot-Coupe by Magimix is still the finest food processor on the market.

Made in Burgundy, France, the Robot-Coupe by Magimix is renowned worldwide for its ultra-quiet and super powerful motor as well its versatility in the kitchenThey have their roots in producing professional products for commercial use so the products are built solid and can handle the most demanding of tasks.

I still remember my grandmother’s Magimix; it was a workhorse in her kitchen and it is today in mine as well.

Almost any task can be accomplished quickly and easily thanks to a trio of nesting work bowls and an assortment of blades, grating disks, slicing discs and whisk and other attachments.  It’s like having a food processor, mixer, mini chopper, grater, mandoline, and juice press all in one.  All of the accessories and additional attachments make the Robot-Coupe by Magimix the most versatile food processor I’ve ever owned.

Along with the main work bowl, the Magimix comes with a midi and a mini bowl.  Each fits in one another and functions independently, allowing you to carry out several tasks in a row without having to wash bowls.  The mini comes with its own chopping blade and is perfect for small jobs like chopping herbs and nuts, the midi bowl is the one to use for grating and slicing and the main bowl is perfect for processing large quantities of food like soups or batters.

The commercial grade motor is quiet and can handle both small and large jobs effortlessly.  The extra-large feeding tube is a nice feature, eliminating the need to pre-chop most items.  I also love that it comes with a case in which to neatly store your attachments so that you always know right where to find the attachment you need for the job.

In addition to the attachments that come with the machine, Magimix also offers additional attachments such as a Dough Bowl Attachment, a Mash and Puree Kit, a Creative Slicing Discs Kit and my favorite, the Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment.

The Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment quickly and efficiently processes fruit and vegetables for juices and smoothies as its name implies, but it’s also is perfect for preparing fresh jams, sauces, sorbets and soups.  The attachment makes quick work of both hard and soft produce and includes a special funnel for berries.

This is by far my favorite new kitchen tool.  With its good looks and powerful performance it’s indisputably a kitchen essential.

The Magimix by Robot-Coupe comes in a 12-cup, 14-cup and 16-cup size (the 16-cup is the one I have) and is exclusively available in the US at Williams Sonoma.

I would make plenty of homemade soups and salads – nothing beats homemade. Now that I’ve had some, courtesy of a friend, I can never have the stuff from a can or a bag again!

  2. Hannah says

This looks like a great kitchen appliance that you could use for so many things! I would try making green smoothies with it.

  3. Cynthia Caballero says

I get all the “hand-me-downs” from the family and would really enjoy getting a kitchen gadget that is brand new, in the box. I love cooking and baking and could use a food processor that isn’t from Walmart or from my parents. Thanks!

  4. Lela says

If I won this magnificent machine, I know I could make smoothies with it, but I would do a lot of juicing & making soups. I could make bread crumbs from some stale bread I have to put in hamburger patties & meatloaf. Oh,the list is endless, but I would put it to good use…that you can be sure of! I would be a proud owner.

  5. Tracy P. says

I would love this Megimix. It sounds so exceptional. I had never heard of this brand before. It is so good to hear of a really high quality food processor. I would make all kinds of baking items. Cookies, Cakes Pies, Breads. I had an Oster home Kitchen appliance that did many different things(, but was stolen along with many pieces of furniture + art, when I was in my early 20’s. This was shortly after Nursing School.) One of the only things I did with it was make a recipe that came with the book, for a Tomato Bread. The smell + taste of it was beyond fantastic. I would love to find that recipe and repeat it(often.)

The first thing I would make is pesto. I am watching my basil plants grow and cannot wait for the first harvest.

  7. says

I follow Magimix on facebook. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Friday. I would juice and make smoothies. It would strengthen my immune system. I am learning a lot right now of the benefits of juicing. I do not have a juicer. I would love to have one. Good luck everyone.

  8. Emily says

This food processor looks amazing! I recently got married to a military man and my tiny food processor is not cutting it these days. I had no idea how much they eat! LOL I would love to have something that is heavy duty:)

  12. JoAnn says

I would make my shredded, fried sweet potatos and remember the (rough) old days of grating them by hand! Mwahahah!

  13. mary fanara coleman says

I would make my homemade soups and definitely will come in handy shredding my mozzerella cheese.

  14. says

Looks like this has a dough blade too! I’d use it to make dough…
chop my vegs and disguise vegs in fruit jiuces for my 4 yr old!

  15. Leighton says

i subscribe to you via google reader, i follow you on twitter and on pinterest!! thanks for all the inspiring recipes!

  16. Carmen says

I would use it to grind almonds to make Norwegian wedding cake. Or slicing potatoes for scalloped potatoes and ham.

  17. Ro'Chele A says

I’ve been wanting to try this raw vegan blondie recipe, but the cashews need to be processed so this would be perfect! I’d also make some killer hummus!

  18. Ro'Chele A says

    And I’m an e-mail subscriber!

Thanks for the chance! This would be amazing!

  19. Lyza says

I would love to make lots of raw fruit and vegetable soups and smoothies. 🙂 Also banana icecream 🙂 I’m trying to cure arthritis the natural way and every little bit that motivates me to eat a cleaner diet helps!!

  20. Chelsey says

Oh goodness, the meals I could make with this beauty. It would be perfect for the upcoming summer dishes like salsas or gazpachos.

  21. Heather K Miller says

I would make a white chocolate encrusted oreo mouse torte! Yum! It requires some processing in a machine like this!
