Small Batch Baking For Chocolate Lovers Book small batch baking for chocolate lovers giveaway

I was recently given the opportunity to review Small Batch Baking for Chocolate Lovers by Debby Maugans.  The extensive 120+ recipe collection is the author’s follow-up to her earlier and popular “Small-Batch Baking” cookbook.  Her newest book expands on “Small Batch Baking’s” techniques with an ingredient that is actually the author’s first taste of the day everyday: chocolate.

Because sometimes a 9-inch layer cake is too much and 2 dozen cookies is just torturous temptation, Small Batch Baking for Chocolate Lovers specializes in chocolate versions of favorite baked goods, including layer cakes, cookies, pies and puddings that are downsized to make just enough for a one time serving.

You can find classic desserts such as chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies alongside unique combinations such as chocolate lavender cream tarts and java chili chocolate pecan crackles.  Ideal for singles, couples, or small families, this book features lots of tempting recipes loaded with chocolate of all kinds and all forms, a real chocolate lover’s dream.

For more information, please see my full and extensive review of the cookbook at Honest Cooking.

I am pleased to share with you that Debby Maugans has generously offered to send one of my readers a copy of Small-Batch Baking for Chocolate Lovers.

I’m not sure I can identify a favorite dessert! I’m diabetic so desserts are usually chosen by what can be made sugar free or low sugar. This small batch baking book might be an excellent aid. One of my favorites is lemon meringue pie, but chocolate cake is always good!

  2. Missy Roberts says

OMG, my favorite would have to be my homemade chocolate chip pudding cookies…YUM!!

i would love to win that small batch cooking cook book! awesome!! i love to give my baked goodies to friends, so it would come in handy.

I love all chocolate and to have to choose just one dessert is probably one of the hardest things a foodie must do! I’m especially partial to dark chocolate with fruit and nuts and caramel1 It’s been known to make me weak in the knees.

  4. Wendy says

I’m old school, I love creme brulee, and tiramisu! The cookbook is right up my ally. I’m an empty nester and small batches would be great.

  5. says

glad I found you today! My favorites desserts most definitely involve chocolate – chocolate cheesecake, flourless chocolate cake, fudgey brownies – the richer the better!

  6. Caroline says

This cookbook sounds perfect for me!! My favorite dessert is a warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup.

  7. says

  8. Allison C says

I love strawberry and rhubarb in any form, but especially pie. I’m sure having it a la mode with chocolate ice cream would work…

  9. says

Oh no! Don’t make me choose a favourite dessert! Unfair. I love most desserts equally…but maybe I like chocolate desserts just a teensy bit more!

  10. says

what a lovely book! i would have to say a thick, gigantic slice of chocolate cake is hard to beat! hope you’re well! xo.

  11. Alan Cooke says

Favorite dessert is flourless chocolate/raspberry torte enrobed in chocolate ganache. Lots of Choc. =)

  12. says

I am a chocoholic! It is very hard to choose only 1 dessert!!! I’d say chocolate and coconut tartelettes: rich dark chocolate ganache in crunchy coconut shells! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  13. Merri says

After years of not liking it, I’ve recently discovered that I love cheesecake. I’ve not been brave enough to try it in chocolate yet.

  14. CJ says

My favorite dessert (currently) would have to be tiramisu . . . so I guess chocolate is involved. :) I can’t ever figure out if I like the shaved chocolate or the cocoa dusted on the top best.

  15. Tracy says

I was going to go with anything chocolate. But after reading the last comment, I would have to agree…tiramisu is a top one. But not my tiramisu…I need to go to a local italian restaurant for the best kind!

  16. says

Favorite dessert – you like to ask hard questions! Tied for first are my mom’s banana split cake or anything with chocolate & peanut butter. But anything chocolate mint is a close second.

  17. says

Just back from vacation and I see this beauty in my inbox. Whats not to love about this gorgeous book. My favourite dessert is my recent Nutella & Fresh Cherry Tart – LOVE IT! And it has chocolate too. Do count me in! xo

  18. Courtney says

I love any kind of fruit cobbler — especially peach. Lately though, I’ve been making Guy Fieri’s chocolate quesadillas. They’re addictive.

P.S. I’m the friend that Claygirlsings (above) was referring to.
P.S.S. I’m going to tweet and FB this.
